Mr. Elijah "Eli" Scott Baker, a resident of Skipperville died Monday morning, June 26, 2023 at U. A. B. Hospital in Birmingham. He was 28 years old.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 30, 2023 from Pine Level Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family with receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday.
Eli was born October 19, 1994, in Enterprise, Alabama. He graduated from G.W. Long High School in 2013 where he played football and was in FFA. He worked as a correctional officer and a deputy sheriff for the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and with the Daleville Police Department. Eli was presently enrolled at Alabama Aviation and Technical College working towards an airframe and power plant certificate and currently worked in aircraft maintenance with Commercial Jet in Dothan. He was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church, avid Alabama fan and loved to hunt and fish. Eli was a true southern country boy.
Survivors include his parents, Detria Benefield (Chris) of Slocomb and Scott Baker (Delilah) of Skipperville. Six sisters, Emily Hendrix (James) of Slocomb; Hannah Baker, Olivia “Libby” Baker, Ava Baker all of Skipperville; Grace Reeves and Claire Benefield of Slocomb. Maternal grandparents, Linda Ingram of Newton and Gordon Lowery of Slocomb. Paternal grandmother, Nancy S. Baker of Skipperville and grandmother Sheree Littlefield of Blue Springs. Niece and nephew Lively Pride and Warren Hendrix and his one true love, Cameren Thompson of Skipperville.
