Eric Lamar Futch, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Flowers Hospital. He was 42.


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Rev. James Truitt and Rev. Clay Greathouse officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday July 15, 2016 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.


Eric was born September 1, 1973 in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was raised in Gordon and was a graduate of Cottonwood High School 1992 where he served as class president. Eric attended Troy University and obtained his Bachelors of Nursing Degree. He worked as a registered nurse for the Federal Prison in Marianna, Florida and was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.


Eric is preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Futch and an uncle, Jimmy Futch.


Survivors include his wife, Delaina Futch; son, Jaylen Futch; daughter, Madaline Futch; mother, Mary Ann Brown, father and mother in law, Willie Ray and Brenda McCall;   brother, Lorenzo Brown, Jr.; sister, Lainga Brown; brother in law, Mark McCall (Wendy); nephews, Trevor and Cade McCall; uncles, Emanuel Futch (Jackie), Brad Futch, (Demetria), Jerry Futch (Lorene), Johnny B Futch (Cora), James Wheeler; aunt, Sharon Futch.
