Mr. Euel Edward (Ed) Clark of Hartford passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at his home. He was 92.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mr. Clark was born on April 13, 1920 in Samson, AL to the late George F. and Cora Parrish Clark. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartford. He proudly served his country in WW II. He and his wife owned and operated Clark’s Upholstery Shop in Hartford for over 50 years, repairing and restoring many items of furniture that would have been thrown away had it not been for his skilled hands.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years: Julia Clark, on May 1, 2011; three brothers: Louie, George, Jr. and John Henry Clark; three sisters: Ruth Hall, Lillian Shirley and Ruby Clark.
Survivors include his son: Paul Clark (Jean) of Dothan; one sister: Leila Waites of Lady Lake, FL; three grandchildren: Paula Michelle Casher (Lee), Teri Ann Mitchell (Todd), Bryan Edward Clark (Crystal) all of Dothan; four great grandchildren: Daniel Paul Casher, Davis Wayne Mitchell, Madelyn Grace Mitchell, and Carter Schulman Clark; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the grandson-in-law, Lee Casher, for the love and care he provided Mr. Clark during his final months. They would also like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their dedication and care shown to the entire family as well as Mr. Clark.
