SKIPPERVILLE…Mr. Fred E. Stansell (Master Sergeant, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Skipperville, died late Friday evening, October 11, 2024, at his home. He was 76.


            Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 17, 2024, in the Beersheba Cemetery with Reverend Bill Weed officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.


            Mr. Stansell, son of the late Ralph Stansell and Martha Kennedy Stansell, was a native of Pickens County, South Carolina. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas while serving in the United States Army before moving to Skipperville in 1979. Mr. Stansell was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from the United States Army. Mr. Stansell was a member of Morgan Baptist Church.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of over fifty years, Donna Moulder Stansell, Skipperville; two sons, Joey Stansell (Rana), Macon, Georgia, Dean Stansell (Melissa), Skipperville and four grandchildren, Sara, Melissa, Morgan, and Conner; brother-in-law, Jerry Moulder (Katrinia), Fountain Inn, South Carolina.
