Fredrick Joseph Colby, a resident of Cowarts, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his residence. He was 38.


Funeral services for Fredrick will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Rev. Steve Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.


Fredrick was born January 30, 1976 in Geneva County, Alabama to James and Betty Jean Williams Colby. He was a hard worker and worked for Jackson Gas and Electric for many years. Fredrick also had a love for his family and the Auburn Tigers. He was a member at First Freewill Baptist Church.


Fredrick is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Ruby Williams.


Survivors include his mother, Betty and James Anderson, Cowarts; father, Jim and Kit Colby, Clara City, MN; two sons, Jordan Colby (Amber), Cowarts, Thomas Colby, Dothan; daughter, Lauran Heiland, Dothan; three grandchildren; brothers, Mike Colby (Cheryl), Clara City, MN, Tim Anderson (Amanda), Dothan, Scotty Anderson (Monique), Ashford; sister, Michelle Gray (Albert), Cowarts; grandmother, Wilma Colby, Clara City, MN and several nieces and nephews.
