Gary J. Hall, aged 68, passed away on February 11, 2024, in Rehobeth, Alabama, after an extended illness, with the warmth of his loving family by his side. Born on May 25, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia, to Jesse and Beverly Hall, Gary’s life was marked by his dedication to his family, his passion for the outdoors, and his unwavering faith.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
A proud alumnus of Auburn University, Gary graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. His intellect and work ethic were as evident in his professional life as they were in his personal pursuits. He took pride in all things Auburn, living out the phrase “I believe in Auburn and love it”. Some of his favorite memories were watching and attending Auburn Football games.
Gary was married to the love of his life, Barbara Enfinger Hall for 48 years. Together they built a life filled with love, and the joy of raising their three sons, Garrett Hall (Caroline), Bart Hall (Anna-Brooke), and Jarred Hall (Kelsi). He is also survived by his parents, Jesse and Beverly Hall; and granddaughters, Raylee Hall and Madison Hall.
Gary was a simple man and believed that a life well spent was spent in the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and sports enthusiast, he cherished the time spent watching his boys and his granddaughter play ball. Gary took great pleasure passing his knowledge of deer hunting on to his sons, spending countless hours in the woods with each one of them. He found his true joy in time spent with his granddaughters, whether he was teaching his “Raylee B” about planets and stars or playing patty cake with his Madison. He taught his family to cherish the simple things in life and to take the time to simply enjoy each other.
For over two decades, Gary was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where his family found strength and community. His favorite retreat was camping at White Oak Campgrounds, where he could be found fishing, grilling, and making lifetime memories with his family.
Gary’s legacy is one of unwavering love for his family, a deep respect for nature, and a life lived with purpose and joy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
