Mr. George Frank Petrey, III, of Dothan died January 7, 2012, at Flowers Hospital. He was 59.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Sanders and Reverend Allie Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2012. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1380 W. Main St. Dothan, AL 36305.


Mr. Petrey was born July 8, 1952, Greenville, Al, the son of the late George Frank Petrey and Agnes Head Petrey. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, loved to play golf, fish, and was a big Auburn fan. He was a loving husband, and father. Mr. Petrey was president of the Progressors School Class, an usher and past president of the United Methodist Men. He retired from Conwood Company and then worked part-time for W.L. Petrey Wholesale. Earlier in life he and his wife ran Johnny’s Soft Serve on South Oates St. He also worked for City Tire Co, in Dothan.


 


 He is preceded in death by his parents.


 


Survivors include his wife, Debra of Dothan; son Christopher Petrey of New Orleans, LA; half-sister, Carolyn Allen of Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.


 


Honorary pallbearers will be the Progressors Sunday School Class.
