Gerald Allen Harper, born September 20, 1941, in Ashford, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, in Bonifay, Florida. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Eudelle Harper, his wife, Sarah E. Harper, and his sister Sandra and brother Jimmy.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 5, 2023, one hour prior to the service.

His memory will be cherished by his children, Keith Harper (Theresa), Stacy Harper (Dianna), and Jenia Beason (Scott), brother Harold Harper (Mary), as well as his grandchildren, Courtney, Nathan, Mallory, Hunter, Sara Anne, Hayden, Kellan, Taylor, and his great-grandchildren, Laney Grace, Cooper, and Carson.

Gerald was a man of simplicity who loved to fish. He spent countless hours on the water, creating lasting memories with his family. His passion for the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for his family. Gerald's legacy will forever be remembered through the lives of his loved ones. His strength, love, and kindness will be greatly missed.
