Obituary: Mr. Glennon Weiss
Mr. Glennon Weiss of Wicksburg passed to Heaven on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. He was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Glenn will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Glenn was born on July 17, 1936 in Millheim, MO, to the late Rudolph and Bertha Metzer Weiss. Glenn loved God, his family, church family, friends and life. A proud veteran, Glenn served his country in the Army and retired from Fort Rucker as Chief of Quality Assurance Maintenance in 1993. A man of integrity, compassion and honesty who always put the needs of others above his own. Glenn was a man of God, devout husband, loving father and the “Best” Popa - Papa who was always there when you needed him. He was a faithful member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, two brothers: Bernard and Ernie Weiss; one nephew, Randy Laurentius and his step mother, Alma preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gennie Weiss, daughter, Pamela Weiss Tatum and her daughter Anna; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Valerie Weiss and their sons: Hunter and Wyatt; two sisters: Barbara Huber (Ed) and Rita Laurentius (Robert); sister-in-law, Rosemary Weiss and numerous nieces and nephews.
