 Glynn Thomas (Tom) Grimmer Sr., a cherished family man, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 25, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on October 19, 1937, in Houston County, Alabama, Tom was a man whose life was characterized by his loving nature and dedication to his family and work.


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Roden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM. Flowers will be accepted.


Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jerelyn McCall Grimmer, a grandson, Jordan Grimmer, and a sister, Glenda Brock. Tom’s legacy  continues through his devoted family, including his son, Glynn Thomas (Tommy) Grimmer Jr., daughter, Kim Grimmer Skipper (Mark), sister, Bobbi Williams (David), brother-in-law, Dale Brock (husband of Glenda), sister, Denise Messick (Robert), and brother-in-law, Ronny McCall (Lucy), grandchildren: Wayne Skipper (Vanessa), Wesley Skipper (Ashlyn), Cydney Roden (Jeremy), and Morgan Higdon (Matthew), and great-grandchildren: Grayson Skipper, Cali Roden, Carolina Roden, Travis Blakley, Bryson Blakley and Henry Skipper.


Tom’s professional life was marked by his meticulous work as a structural steel detailing draftsman. Beyond his professional endeavors and love for restoring cars and motorcycles, Tom’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his loved ones. His gentle presence and unwavering support were the cornerstones of many family gatherings and celebrations. Tom’s love for his family was evident in the way he lived his life and the lasting memories he created with them.


As we bid farewell to Glynn Thomas (Tom) Grimmer Sr., we celebrate a lief well-lived and a man well-loved. His kindness, integrity, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Tom’s memory will be cherished and honored by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his generous spirit.
