Mr. Harold Able Cushing of Samson passed away Wednesday April 30, 2014. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Elbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Leddon Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Geneva directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Cushing was born August 25, 1945 in Escambia County to the late Roy Able and Bessie Lee Allen Cushing. Harold was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed his animals, especially his dog. He worked in the poultry and cattle industry with Gray Farms, Revels Farms and Brooks Farms for several years. He was a member of Samson Masonic Lodge 624 and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Alice Hall Cushing, Samson;two sons: Jimmy Ray Wilson (Angela Newell), Ponce De Leon, FL and Harold Dewayne Cushing (Alice), Winter Haven, FL; two grandchildren: Jessica Leeann Cushing and Robert Nathan Cushing, both of Winter Haven, FL; four great-grandchildren: Hagen Jewell Stamey, Kayden Taylor Cushing, Lane Nathan Cushing and Brantley Wayne Cushing; two sisters- in- law: Kay Smith, Samson and Dorothy Moody, Opp; one special niece, Anita Shirey (Michael),Panama City Beach, FL; other extended family and friends.
