Harry Byron Tidwell, SR., 81, died early Saturday morning in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Taylor and Reverend John Smith officiating, Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 Monday at the church prior to the service.

Harry Worked in the roofing business for thirty eight years prior to his retirement and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife of fifty nine years, Gerline Strickland Tidwell, Cottonwood, Al;  four sons, James (Cindy) Tidwell, Live Oak, FL, Arthur Tidwell & Nathan Tidwell both of Cottonwood; Harry (Bonnie) Tidwell, JR, Punta Gorda, FL; two daughters, Glenda (Ron) Arnold, Mt. Calm, WV, Katrina (Joe) Tidwell, Cottonwood; two sisters, Barbara Cortez, Flagler Beach, FL, Mariel Hawel, Santa Barbara, CA; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great- grandchildren; six great- great grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
