Hayward F. Dickerson, 75, husband of Bobbie Traylor Dickerson of Cottonwood, Al, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 at Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church with Reverend Tony Deese and Reverend Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in Cottonwood City Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

 

Serving as active pallbearers are Kenny Traylor, Richard Swineheart, Johnny Mims, Billy Gene Dickerson, Jason Worley and Roger Dickerson.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday prior to the services at Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church.

 

Hayward was born in Houston County, Al, a son of the late Elbert Causey and Ethel Silcox Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson worked as a carpenter in the homebuilding business, working for several contractors, before becoming self employed in the later years of his working life. He was of the Assembly of God Faith.

 

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby (Melody) Dickerson, Cottonwood, Al; a daughter, Kathy Dawn Dickerson, Dothan, Al; two grandchildren, Aaron Dickerson and Casey Dickerson both of Cottonwood, Al.
