Henry Lafayette Pybus, age 80, of Dothan passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016.
Born September 28, 1935 in Houston County to the late Oscar A. Pybus and Madie Jane Richardson Pybus Wright, Henry was a lifelong resident of Houston County. He was a member of Cowarts Creek Freewill Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and spending time with his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Randall Pybus and Willis Pybus.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Pybus; his son, Rodney Pybus, his wife Sue; his daughters, Pamela Shelley, her husband Terry and Janet Casey, her husband Stan; his sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Ruth Hamm, her husband Carroll, Sue Skelton, her husband Charlie, Lois Williams, and Gloria Black; his grandchildren, Jason Shelley, April Shelley, Ashley Pybus, and Phillip Pybus; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Shelley, Landon Edward Shelley, Austin Elliott Shelley, and Harper Jade Devaney; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 5, 2016 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Johnny Strickland and Reverend Ricky Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM one hour prior to the service.
The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
