We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Herbert Ralph Wiggins, age 77, of Dothan, AL and formerly of Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Wiggins passed away Friday morning, Nov. 1, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Wiggins will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at 4:00 PM EST at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Talmadge Worsley and Rev. Steve Trail officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA with Davis Preston, Kelly Horton, Chuck Smith, Deryl Wiggins, Tim Smith, and Tony Meyer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. David Daniels, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Barber, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Williams, Jean Preston, Betty Lindsey, and Carol Rathel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM EST at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Wiggins was born in Ranburne, AL on September 13, 1936 to Herbert B. Wiggins and Winnie Baggett Wiggins. After high school, Mr. Wiggins served for 20 years in the United States Air Force before retiring from military service. He then worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years before retiring from that position. Mr. Wiggins was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Dothan, AL.
Mr. Wiggins leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Helen Wiggins of Dothan, AL; three daughters, Diane Wiggins of Hilton Head, SC, Sheila Ausley of Bluffton, SC, and Felicia Horton and her husband Kelly of Enterprise, AL; and a sister, Dollie Smith of Ranburne, AL. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Gabrielle Hicks and her husband Caleb, Alex Horton, and Kelsey Horton, as well as 1 great grandchild, Ausben Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert B. Wiggins and Winnie Baggett Wiggins; two brothers, and 5 sisters.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Durwood Morris PO Box 447 Iron City, GA 39859.
