Howard G. Fullwood, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Flowers Hospital. He was 89.


Memorial services for Mr. Fullwood will be held at Noon Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Wilmore officiating.


Mr. Fullwood was born September 15, 1922 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Bertrem Joseph and Margaret Helen Shira Fullwood. After graduation from high school, he joined the United States Army and served three years. Following his military career, Mr. Fullwood worked for Sunshine Biscuit Company until his retirement.


Mr. Fullwood is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geneva M. Fullwood; sister, June Fullwood; brother, Bert Fullwood and a step son, James Cummings.


Survivors include his children, Melinda A. McDuffie (Danny), Dothan, Howard L. Fullwood, Coconut Creek, FL, Greg Fullwood (Julie), Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer Fullwood, Barbara Balles (Jerry), Susie Gomez (Tony), Kyle Hardin and Jesse Hardin; step sons, Robert Cummings, Brundidge, Carlos Burchette, Ohio; sisters, Lillian Tanney, Dothan, Phyllis Mann (Bob), Dothan, Marge Waldron (John), Ohio; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to thank caregivers; Mary Carroll, Mary Ellen Pace and Ginny Peters for their love and support shown to Mr. Fullwood.
