Mr. Howard Meeker Cadmus of Highfalls Road, Hartford, Alabama passed away Friday, December 7, 2012. He was 84.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with the funeral discourse given by Bill Van Twuyver. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 3:00 p.m. and continue until service time.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Watchtower Society Worldwide Preaching Work, Brooklyn, NY.
Mr. Cadmus was born November 1, 1928, in Montclair, NJ to the late Herbert and Dorothy Meeker Cadmus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a translator during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cadmus was fluent in numerous languages. While living in New Jersey he served as President for the Board of Education in Montclair. He later was Vice President of the Carolina Casualty Insurance Company in Jacksonville, FL. For fourteen years he was a full time pioneer of the Geneva Congregation of the Jehovah Witness. In the year of 2000, he ministered with the French Haitians in Ft. Myers, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mavis Marlow Cadmus, Hartford; one daughter, Cynthia Cadmus Livingston (Jeffrey Scott), Dothan; two grandchildren: Logan Daniel Cadmus Eaddy and Kierston Tyler Cadmus Eaddy, both of Samson; one great-grandson on the way, Ripken Tyler Gillis, Samson.
