Mr. Ira Jeff Edmondson, a resident of Jack, Alabama, died Saturday, May 8, 2021, at his home. He was 82 years old.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 11, 2021, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Donnie Marler officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Mr. Edmondson was born May 25, 1938 in Abbeville, Alabama to the late Malcolm Edmondson and Louise Barnes Edmondson. He grew up in Headland and served in the United States Army Reserve for six years. Mr. Edmondson worked for the Coca-Cola Company, Black Industries and retired following 38 years with Pea River Electric Cooperative. He was a member of the Victoria Baptist Church. He loved his family, listening to his “records”, fishing and hunting. Mr. Edmondson enjoyed turkey, deer, quail and dove hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Grantham Edmondson; one sister, Blondell Shelley; two brothers, Billy Edmondson and Tony Edmondson; and one granddaughter, Tookie Edmondson.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lyn and Wanda Edmondson of Jack, Alabama; one daughter, Kellie Edmondson of Little Elm, Texas; three sisters, Connie Hale of Ohio, Martha Redding (Allen) of Quitman, Georgia, and Judy Blankenship of Dothan, Alabama; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
