Mr. Jack Dempsey Dean, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 89.

Born December 21, 1927 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Leroy and Pearl King Dean, Jack was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force and enjoyed working outdoors and having a vegetable garden. He was a fan of country and gospel music and will be remembered by neighborhood children for tinkering and fixing their toys, bicycles, and tricycles.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Dean, James Dean, and Rex Dean; and his sister, Carolyn Justice.

Survivors include his wife, Rejina Palmer Dean; his son, Greg (Becky) Dean; his grandson, Blake (Kim) Spencer; his great-grandson, Justin Whitaker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and other “adopted” children and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 9 AM, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bob Sanders officiating.
