Mr. Jack Stuckey Strickland, a resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019. He was 84 years old.
Funeral services will be graveside 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 26, 2019, in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Dr. Eric Fuller officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.
Mr. Strickland was born December 25, 1934 in Headland, Alabama to the late Sidney Warren Strickland and Lucille Stuckey Strickland. He lived in the Ewell Community during his early years and served in the United States Navy. He worked as General Manager of a nationwide furniture manufacturer before moving back to Ozark and starting Duo Rest Furniture Manufacturing Company which he operated until his retirement in 1998. Jack was an active member of Ozark Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Emogene Woodham and his twin brother, Joe Strickland.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Martha Smith Strickland of Ozark; one daughter, Janet Hall of North Carolina; two sons, Joseph Steven Strickland of Ozark and Sid Strickland (Teresa) of Midland City; three sisters, Ann Hirtle (Bill) of Birmingham, Syble Brown of Titusville, Florida, and Sylvia Duncan of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Harold Strickland of Ozark. Eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
