Mr. James A. Coale of Kinston passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home in Geneva. He was 84. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Earlytown Church of Christ with Evangelist Kevin Presley and Mister Robert Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Earlytown Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, 648 Cassie Road, Kinston, AL 36453 or 2 West Main St., Samson, AL 36477.


Mr. Coale was born in Brewton, AL on February 2, 1928 to the late Sam and Janie Moore Coale. Mr. Coale was a member of the Earlytown Church of Christ. He also owned and operated Jim’s Meat House for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.


He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma Spivey Coale of Kinston; two sons, Maury Coale (Jill) of Kinston and Phillip Coale of Tallahassee, FL; two grandchildren, Sallie Coale and Sam Coale of Kinston; brother and sister, George Coale (Jo) and Janie Odom both of Brewton, AL; several nieces and nephews.
