OZARK…Mr. James B. Boyd (CW4, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died early Friday afternoon, November 18, 2022, in Dale Medical Center. He was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow at 2:00 P.M. (ET) in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Boyd, son of the late Roy Boyd and Mary Perkins Boyd, was a native of Fayette, Alabama. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas, while serving in the United States Army before moving to Ozark in 1981. Mr. Boyd was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era and the Korean War Era and retired after thirty-five and a half years with the rank of CW4. He was inducted into the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division Hall of Fame in 2020. Mr. Boyd enjoyed golf, fishing, playing poker and playing the guitar. He was an avid University of Alabama Football fan. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Stoker and Shirley Duckworth; four brothers, William Boyd, Clifton Boyd, Johnnie Boyd, and Roy Boyd.
Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-years, Jo Ann Noyes Boyd, Ozark; two sons, Stephen Boyd (Marie), Mansfield, Texas and Michael Boyd (Gary Hanner), Rockport, Texas; six grandchildren, Caitlyn Boyd, Lindsey Stewart (Ian), Anthony Quinn (Laura), and Nichole Cox (Justin), Christy Huddleston (Jeremy Stewart), and Caitlin Huddleston; seven great-grandchildren, Idabel, Cade, Waylon, Henry, Marcine, Hadleigh, and Chloe; several nieces and nephews.
