James D. Branton, “Jimmy”, a resident of Youngstown, Florida died Saturday, December 20, 2014 following a brief illness at Bay Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was 60 years of age.
Funeral services for Jimmy will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Pastor Nick Bruner officiating. Private family burial will follow at Memory Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067.
Jimmy was born March 28, 1954 to James and Jean Hartley Branton. He was a 1972 graduate
of Dothan High and later joined the US Navy. Jimmy was a graduate of Germanna Community College and attended the University of Mary Washington. He worked for BAE Systems Aerospace Company as an Analyst. Jimmy had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, skiing and boating. He also was fond of woodworking and cars.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James Early Branton and a nephew, Joshua Todd Bruner.
Survivors include his wife, Belinda Branton, Yougstown, FL; son, James Branton, Spotsylvania, VA; mother, Jean Branton, Dothan; two sisters, Linda Jean Bruner and husband, Paul, Columbus, GA, Sue Dean and husband, Ronnie, Dothan; aunt, Mable Branton, Dothan and several nieces and nephews.
