Mr. James Carroll Newton, age 77 of Forest Area Rd, Kinston, Al died May 4, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Newton was born January 10, 1941 in Hobbs, NM to the late Lonzell and Vera Keen Newton.  He loved to travel across country on his horse and wagon.  His horses and mules were his passion. He was a drag line operator by trade with Texas Utilities Mining Company.

Private memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by son; James Newton (Christian) of Mounds View, MN and daughter; Kristi Shands (Tommy), Odessa, Tx.,  three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
