ARITON…Mr. James Campbell, a resident of Ariton, died Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, in Fort Gaines Health & Rehab, Fort Gaines, Georgia. He was 93.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the Sykes Creek Baptist Church in Clio with Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church.


            Mr. Campbell, son of the late Marion Jack Campbell and Maggie Campbell, was a native of Clio and lived most of his lifetime in Ariton. He was formerly employed with Harbison Walker and Wiregrass Construction Company as a dump truck driver. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Sykes Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Baxley Campbell; granddaughter, Brittany Senn, great-grandson, Grady Grace, son-in-law, Jason Copeland, sister, Frances Campbell, and three brothers, Bill Campbell, Sherrill Dewayne Campbell, and M.J. Campbell.


            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Brenda Evans (Jerry Watson), Eufaula; JoAnn Senn (A.B.) and Christie Copeland, all of Ariton; eight grandchildren, Angie Pratt (Rob), Jodie Grace (Calvin), Brandie Trujillo (Caesar), Kayla Shaw (Richard), Trey Evans (Savanna), Jenny Senn, Erika Lopez (Nick), and Haley Watson; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews, and cousins.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Rob Pratt, Trey Evans, Richard Shaw, Nick Lopez, Calvin Grace, Caesar Trujillo, and Evan Pratt.
