Mr. James Clark Roy, Jr. of Geneva passed away at UAB Hospital in Birmingham on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was 60. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Roy was born in Hartford, AL on July 30, 1952 to the late James Clark Roy, Sr. and Ellen Eris Burch Roy. At the time of his death, he was employed at Reliable Metal Products where he was an assistant supervisor. He worked there for twenty-three years. Prior to that he worked at Benson Wholesale and Fleming Foods for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Glenda Roy; daughter, April Sloan and husband, Jerry, all of Geneva; son, David Roy and wife, Samantha of Coffee Springs; five grandchildren, Austin and Dustin Sloan, both of Geneva, and Zae, Hunter and Lillie Roy, all of Coffee Springs; two sisters, Angela Mintz and Annette Greer and husband, Marcus, all of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.
