Mr. James Clifton Fairris of Rehobeth passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Vicky Fairris. He was 81.


 


Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John D. Reese officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pansey, AL with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 P.M. Monday, April 1, 2013. Flowers will be accepted.


 


Mr. Fairris was born May 12, 1931 in Bessemer, AL. He was a graduate of the Columbia Military Academy and served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 – 1954. He graduated from Auburn University in 1957 and loved Auburn Football. Mr. Fairris worked with Daniels Construction in the Nuclear Plant Construction. He retired from Bessemer Utilities in May 2012 as an environmental co-ordinator. He was born again in 1979. He loved to laugh, go to the beach, and being with his family. He started each day spending time in prayer and Bible reading.


 


He is preceded in death by his parents, JC Fairris and Bernice Phillips Fairris, and one sister, Betty Travillian.


 


Survivors include sons, Mark Fairris and his wife, Vicky of Rehobeth; Steven Fairris of Huntsville; grandchildren, Heather Alberson, Brandy Stewart, Hannah Lewis, Brandon Fairris, Brittany Trotter, great-grandchildren, Gracie and Tucker Alberson, Landon Thompson, Grayson Lewis, two nieces, Connie Travillian, Jean Travillian, and very close friends, Mary and R.J. Bruner.
