Obituary: Mr. James Earl Bonner
Mr. James Earl Bonner of Wicksburg passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church in Wicksburg with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Ricky Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Earl was born on January 30, 1936 in Jay, FL. He was raised in Wicksburg by his late parents, Gaines Brown and Loraine Weeks Bonner. He will be remembered by friends and family as a caring man with a great since of humor.
In addition to his parents, a son, Mike Bonner and a brother, Leo Bonner preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Bonner; two sons: James Weed (Debra) and Shelley Bonner (Sabrina); two daughters: Kim Hammack (Curry) and Carol Bonner (Donnie); one brother, Rex Bonner (Betty); a sister-in-law, Angelin Bonner; six granddaughters: Michaila, Marissa, Taylor, Hannah, Nikki and Mandy; four grandsons: Jarrod, Jeremy, Logan and Owen; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a sincere thank you to Hartford Health Care for the care and attention they provided to him over the past three years and to the staff at Flowers Hospital who gave compassionate care for him and his family, especially Dr. Robert Latimer.
We love you, Earl/Daddy/Papa, and will always miss you.
