Mr. James Earl Snell of County Road 6, Geneva, Alabama when home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was 91.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, in the Westside United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Williams and Rev. Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continue until service time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Westside United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Snell was born August 25, 1922, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Arthur Neal and Ella Buxton Snell. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. Mr. James was a very kind hearted person and was a very faithful member of Westside United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Clintonville Masonic Lodge #482 in Eldorado Springs, MO.
In addition to his parents his wife of 71 years, Rebecca Jordan Snell, preceded him in death in March of 2014. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings: Vera Lee Smith, Merle Creel, Tullis, Ronnie, Van Buren, Ray and Durl Snell.
Survivors include one sister, Burnell Smith; several nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends
