Obituary: Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Carnes
Date: December 14, 2015
Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Carnes of Slocomb passed away Sunday, December 13 at Flowers Hospital. He was 48.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Carnes was born September 15, 1967 in Apoka, Florida. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed Nascar, watching wrestling and Alabama football. Jimmy was a loving husband, caring father and Pa to his grandchildren. And last but not least, he loved his dog Bo.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Thelma Middlebrooks Carnes; sister; Connie Carnes, grandmother, Rosie Middlebrooks and uncle, Robert Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Chavis Carnes, Slocomb; daughter, Carlee Ann Carnes, Slocomb; three sons: Blake Edward Carnes and his fiancée Hannah, Headland, Charles Eugene Carnes and his fiancée Heather, Graceville, FL and James Hunter Carnes, Slocomb; two granddaughters: Lilly Carnes and Presley Carnes; one grandson on the way, Zane; one brother, Tim Carnes (Erika), Sneads, FL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
