Born on January 12, 1950, in Enterprise, Alabama, Edwin was a man who lived a life full of love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, William Littleberry and Bonnie Bowman, his special nephew Little Ronnie, and several other family members. His legacy continues through his beloved wife, Carmelita Bowman, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering commitment. He was a faithful husband and an exceptional father to his sons, Jamie Bowman (Ellen) and Mitchell Bowman (Allison). Edwin’s joy was multiplied with the birth of his grandchildren, Katie Bowman, Lauren Jones (Cory), and Gage Jones, and he was overjoyed to become a great-grandfather to Coy Adams. His special brother-in-law, Ronnie Smith (Laura), niece Misty Bradshaw (Tim), and Jennifer Bradshaw (Jeff) also survive him, each holding a unique place in his heart.
Edwin’s work ethic was unparalleled. He took great pride in his heating and air conditioning business, which he built with his own hands and a strong sense of integrity. His customers knew him as a reliable and honest businessman. Edwin’s love for the outdoors was evident in the way he spent his free time, often found enjoying fish fries and camping trips before his illness.
A wonderful "Poppy," Edwin’s grandchildren will remember him for his warmth and the special moments they shared. His love for simple pleasures, like savoring a Dr. Pepper, indulging in a Kit Kat bar, and sharing coffee with his best buddy Ed Harvey, were part of the everyday joys that he cherished. Edwin’s fur babies, Daisey and Buddy, were also a source of comfort and companionship, and they will miss his gentle presence.
Throughout his life, Edwin was known for his loving nature. He was a man who made a lasting impact on those around him through his kindness and generosity of spirit. His family would like to extend a special thank you to Joyce and Jada, as well as the entire Gentiva Hospice staff, for their compassionate care and support during his final days.
Edwin’s life was a testament to the values he held dear: love, family, and hard work. As we remember him, we are reminded of the strength of his character and the depth of his affection for those he held dear. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his influence will continue to be felt by the many lives he touched.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Edwin Bowman was a man who brought light and love into the lives of many, and his presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will remain with us, guiding us with the wisdom and love he shared so freely.
