Obituary:  James Gerald Mitchell

 James Gerald Mitchell of Enterprise, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021. He was 86.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend  Michael Mynatt officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday July 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel.

Gerald was born to the late Ocie and Thelma Arnold Mitchell.  He was in the furniture business for over 68 years and the owner of Mitchell Furniture here in Enterprise since 1974.

He was also preceded in death by his brother Charles Mitchell and sister Frances Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Mitchell; daughter, Vicki Rasmussen; son, Kevin Mitchell (Traci); two sisters, Dorothy Carmichael and Jeanette Brundidge; brother, Bobby Mitchell; grandchildren, Megan (Clay Scofield) Rasmussen, Zane Mitchell, Zoie Mitchell, Caden, Cole, Clay Sherrer; numerous nieces and nephews.
