James “Jim” Cecil Cobia, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama died peacefully Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Southeast Health surrounded by his loving family. He was 54.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30PM, Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Chuck Locke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:30PM to 2:30PM.
Jim was born to Patricia Jordan Cobia and the late Cecil Cobia on September 9, 1967 in Houston County, Alabama. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, drag racing, and chroming his semi-truck. Jim was a fun-loving man with a big heart. He would give anyone the shirt off his back. He never wanted his family and friends to want for anything. His greatest enjoyment was spending countless time and making everlasting memories with his family and friends. Jim will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Cobia was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Rhonda Johnson; and a grandson, Brayden Norris.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 37 years, Suzanne Watson Cobia; his mother, Patricia Cobia (James); two daughters, Amber Cobia, and Sarah Mauldin (Mitchell); four grandchildren, Landon Norris, Blayne Norris, Myleigh Dyson, and Ella Mauldin; a special niece, Ashley Pearson (Justin); along with many great nieces, nephews, and many friends.
