OZARK…Mr. James L. Spears, a resident of Ozark, died late Wednesday evening, November 6, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. He was 72.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, November 11, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Collins Mill Cemetery, Graceville, Florida at a later date. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Spears was born March 13, 1952, in Slocomb, Alabama and formerly lived in Troy, Ohio for twenty years. While in Troy, Ohio, he was employed with Hobart Manufacturing Company. He returned to the Ozark area in 1974 and was employed with Pemco as an aircraft mechanic. Mr. Spears favorite pastime was hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ralph Spears and a brother, Joseph Dewayne Spears.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Sheri Lenoir, Garland, Texas; mother, Janice Vickers Barbour (Larry Peters), Ozark; sister, Kristenia Jones, Columbus, Georgia; niece and nephew, William Duvall and Angela Duvall; great nieces and nephews, Rose Duvall, Shayleigh Duvall, Tra Duvall, and Ben Smith.
