Mr. James Leon Davis, of Slocomb went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
Born April 17, 1946 in Henry County to the late Willie Jay and Bessie Mae Miller Davis, Leon was a member of Selma Baptist Church. He was a local automotive business owner having owned numerous automotive businesses including tire stores and car dealerships since 1972. Leon was a classic car fanatic, enjoying working on classic cars and attending car shows. He will be remembered as a giving man, having felt blessed to be able to give to those less fortunate. He also loved reading his Bible and playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria, Elizabeth, and Ruby.
Leon is survived by his wife, Alicia Clark Davis; his children, Tracy (Bruce) Ledford, Theresa (Cole) Daum, Bradley (Rebekah) Davis, Leanna (David) Stein, Aaron Davis, Jessica (Dewayne) Edwards, Jamie (Clayten) Fields; his sisters, Charlotte Weeks, Shirley Watkins, Judy (Bobby) Dyson, Peggy (Kip) Satterfield, and Wendy Davis; his brother, LaDon (Bonnie) Davis; his grandchildren, Amber, Nicholas, Hayden, Carter, Michaela, Noah, Bonnie, Lily, Isaac, Jennifer, and Caroline; his great-grandchildren, Adalynn Clayton, Ellie Grace, Preston James, Beatrice Jane, and Leezah Ramirez; his miniature Chihuahua Coco; his gold Chevelle; several close friends, special nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Judy Dyson officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 7 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bradley Davis, Aaron Davis, Edwin Mozley, Cole Daum, Trevor Parker, and Nicholas Daum. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be LaDon Davis, Bobby Dyson, Hayden Daum, Carter Daum, and David Stein.
