Mr. James R. Holman
Mr. James R. (Ace) Holman of Dothan passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Westside Terrace. He was 91.
Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Tim Willis officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Holman retired after 40 years of service with Supreme and Meadow Gold Ice Cream where he had served as Chief Engineer, Plant Supt. and Assistant General Manager. He was a member of Taylor Masonic Lodge #447 where he received a pin for 50 year membership. He was also a member of Alcazar Shrine Temple and Wiregrass Shrine Club.
Mr. Holman was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Roger Sollie Sunday School Class. He had served in the Civil Air Patrol as a Captain and pilot for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Willie Virginia Holman.
Survivors include his sons, Richard D. Holman of Waves, N.C.; Don (Kathy) Holman of Dothan; daughter, Debra (Bob) Harris of Panama City, FL; five grandchildren, Leigh (Todd) Barham of Bradenton, FL; Lisa Holman of Flagler Beach, FL; Scott (Deena) Holman of Gulf Breeze, FL; Dana (Ted) Veillon of Baton Rouge, LA; Bo Harris of Atlanta, GA; six great-grandchildren, Clay Barham of Bradenton, FL; Matthew Holman of Gulf Breeze, FL; Gracie, Ellie, Millie, and Trip Veillon of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Kathryn Jones of Birmingham.
