LOUISVILLE…Mr. Jeffery Baxter (Sergeant First Class, Alabama Army National Guard, Retired), a resident of Louisville, died late Tuesday morning, November 26, 2024, at his home. He was 72.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clio with Pastor Randy Adams officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the cemetery.
Mr. Baxter, son of the late William Earl Baxter and Elise Sanders Baxter, was a native and lifelong resident of Barbour County. He was retired from the Alabama Army National Guard and served in Desert Storm, Iraq, and Panama. Mr. Baxter was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Clio. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Settle.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice Chesser Baxter; son, Jerremy Baxter (Whitney); daughter, Adrienne Spiller (Timothy), all of Ariton; grandchildren, Grayson Baxter, Tucker Baxter, Wade Spiller, Anslyn Spiller, and Neviah Leatherwood; brother-in-law, David Settle, Georgia; sister-in-law, Jeanne Emrick, Ariton; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
