OZARK…Mr. Jeffery Wayne Weed, a resident of Ozark, near Newton, died early Saturday morning, June 25, 2022, at his home. He was 42.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in the Bethel Baptist Church, near Newton, with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
Jeffery was born May 17, 1980 and grew up in Midland City. He was a 1998 Graduate of Dale County High School, where he played football and baseball. Jeffery received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Troy University Dothan. He formerly lived in Savannah, Georgia before returning to Dale County in 2014. Jeffery was currently employed with AAA Cooper Transportation in Dothan as Director of Network Operations. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his sons and was very active in all their sports activities. Jeffery was an avid University of Alabama Football fan. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Wayne Weed; father-in-law, Terry L. Turner.
Surviving relatives include his wife of twenty years, Kristy Turner Weed; a daughter, Ava Weed; three sons, Cole Weed, Maddox Weed, and Aidan Weed, all of Ozark; mother, Diane Grissom Weed; his sister, Jennifer Green (Dustin), all of Midland City; nieces and nephews, Kadence Green, Emma Grace Rhoden, Bennett Green, Tanner Livingston, and Ansleigh Livingston; mother-in-law, Cindy Bess Perry (Mike); sister-in-law, Trina Livingston, all of the Echo Community; several other family members including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Karl Condrey, Clay Bright, Ryan Allen, Al Allen, Anthony Holton, Shane Whitman, and Brandon Scott.
