Mr. Jeffrey Mack Allgood, age 51, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at SAMC after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 3:00 p.m., July 11, 2017 at Wiregrass Church of Dothan.  Reverend Steve Trail and Reverend John Smith will be officiating the service. The burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendell Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends prior to services on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Wiregrass Church, 900 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama.

Jeffrey or “Jeff” was born on March 24, 1966, in Dothan, the son of Jimmy Mack and Sara Herring Allgood. He was a 1984 graduate of Northview High School and a lifelong resident of Dothan. As much as Jeffrey loved Alabama football and fishing at Dead Lakes, his love for both paled in comparison to his love for his wife of 12 years, Charlotte (Char-Char).

In 1988, Jeff cofounded Mobile Glass in Dothan. By 2010, Jeff had grown his business into a staple of the community and had franchised as Glass Doctor. Glass Doctor successfully operates as a home, auto and commercial glass business. More importantly, those who worked with Jeff will remember his kind heart and trademark laugh with greater measure than any amount of glass work he could have ever completed.

Jeffrey truly loved his family and friends. He was always quick to open his home and never met a stranger. He would always greet you with a “hey buddy” and made everyone he met feel like a true friend.

He could often be found practicing donuts anywhere the road would allow.  Jeff was an avid restorer of Studebaker pick-up trucks and loved all old automobiles.

Survivors include his loving wife, Charlotte Jackson Allgood, two daughters, Courtney and EmilyAnne Hart, all of Dothan; parents, Jimmy Mack and Sara Herring Allgood, of Dothan; sister, Laurie Allgood Parker, of Dothan; two nieces, Bonnie Parker, of Tuscaloosa and Abbie Parker, of Lexington, KY; father and mother-in-law, Ben and Marion Jackson, of Cottonwood; two brother-in-laws, Kenny Jackson (Cathy) of Cottonwood and Bobby Jackson (Alisa) of Dothan; a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ray Arnold, Fred Blackwell, Eddie Donaldson Jr., Bruce Gilbert, Ken Hancock, Derek Harrison, Steve Hawthorne, and Brad Mason. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be many of Jeff’s lifelong friends, also known as his “buddies".

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in honor of Lydia Dowling located on 2112 11th Avenue South, Ste 520, Birmingham, AL  35205  and/or Wiregrass 2-1-1, located on 545 West Main Street, Dothan, AL  36301.

Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.  (334) 699-3888.  Please sign the guestbook on line at www.gloverfuneral.com.
