Mr. Jeral Carpenter, of Blue Springs, Alabama passed away at his home Wednesday, May 15, 2024, after a brief illness. He was 74.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 19, at 2:00 pm at Peniel Baptist Church in Skipperville, Alabama with Rev. Russell Hagler officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.


Jeral was born December 15, 1949, to the late Oras Lee (OL) and Evie Estelle Helms Carpenter. He was a student of Blue Springs High School and served 4 years with the United States Marines. He worked as a brick mason for many years. Jeral enjoyed gospel music, watching westerns, cooking, and eating, but most of all he loved his wife and spending time with her.


Jeral was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ladon Carpenter, and a son, Jeffrey Carpenter.


He is survived by his wife, Linda Shirah Carpenter, Blue Springs, brothers David Lee (Betty) Carpenter of Dothan, and Eddie Carpenter of Bristol, Florida, and three children, Blake Carpenter, Bentonville, Arkansas, Chris Carpenter, Dothan, and Morgan Carpenter, Eufaula.


Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Gulledge, Logan Shirah, Dylan Gulledge, Caleb Tyler, Brody Tyler, Ty Tyler, and Chad Gulledge.
