Mr. Jimmy Lassiter of Fadette passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at his home.  He was 69.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating.  Burial will follow in New Hinson Baptist Church Cemetery near Fadette, AL with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to New Hinson Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1143 County Road 48, Slocomb, AL  36375. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Jimmy was born on July 10, 1943 in Geneva County, AL to the late Johnny and Mattie Smith Lassiter.  Jimmy had lived his entire life in the Fadette community.  He will be greatly missed. 

Survivors include his four children:  Lawrence Lassister of Panama City Beach, FL, Carol Grubbs (Joe) of Birmingham, Renee Young (Robert) of Birmingham, Scott Lassiter of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; one granddaughter; one brother:  Johnny E. Lassiter (Theresa) of Slocomb; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
