In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID 19 Virus, graveside services for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplin Tim Stevenson officiating.
Mr. Wilkinson was born in Barbour County, formerly from Blue Springs to the late Joe and Eunice Wilkinson. He resided in Taylor upon his death. Mr. Wilkinson worked as a farmer, earth mover, with the Barbour County Road and Bridge Department, and a truck driver for 53 years. During his trucking days, he logged over two million miles and has rewards of his accomplishments. He loved his family, friends, fishing, and trucking. When he could no longer drive, he was still trucking and shifting gears in his sleep. People knew him well especially by his sense of humor and him wearing tank tops and shorts during winter and also by him decorating his truck for the children.
Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother, Edward Wilkinson, and his sister, Betty Campbell.
The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for the loving care and kindness they showed to our daddy. A special thanks to his hospice aide, Cagney Newton and Chaplin Tim Stevenson and several nurses. He made many friends along the way, but forever friends were Betty Sue Wilkinson and Earl B. (Ruby) Williams.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Kevin Gulledge, Kerwin Gulledge, Tony McKenzie, Joey Campbell, Gary Robinson, Allen Helms, Robert Hagler, Matthew Hagler, James Wynn, and Antonio Flowers.
