Mr. John Franklin Oliver, Jr., a resident of Ozark, died early Tuesday morning, May 4, 2021. He was 89 years old.
A private family memorial service for Mr. Oliver will be held at a later date. However, condolences may be expressed at www.HolmanFuneralHome.com
Mr. Oliver was born September 17, 1931, in Hampton, Arkansas to the late John Franklin Oliver and Beatrice Daniels Oliver. He was a graduate of Henderson State University where he met the love of his life, the late Imogene Laird Oliver, and they were married for 65 years. Following his graduation from college he joined the United States Army, attended flight school at Fort Rucker, served two tours in Vietnam retired following 20 years of service. Mr. Oliver was an avid golfer and gardener. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Clewis; one brother, Buddy Oliver; and daughter-in-law, Malinda Snell Oliver.
Survivors include his children, Mike Oliver (Shana), Jacki Outlaw (Jeff), and Johnny Oliver; grandchildren, Katie Manuel (Chris), Tyler Outlaw (Callie), Stephen Oliver, Sarah McLaughlin (Rane), and Olivia Outlaw; great grandchildren, Harvey McLaughlin, Prosser McLaughlin and Reese Manuel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westview Heights United Methodist Church, 512 Camilla Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
