 Obituary: Mr. John Perry Keel


 


Mr. John Perry Keel of Slocomb passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at SAMC. He was 80. 


Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Strickland and Rev. Dan Raley officiating. Burial will follow in Fadette Pentecostal Ministries Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 


Mr. Keel was born November 24, 1932 in Fadette, AL to the late Clayton and Onice Johnson Keel. John owned and operated Keel’s Service Station in Slocomb for many years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a loving and kind brother who will be greatly missed. 


In addition to his parents, a brother, Billy Carl Keel; two sisters: Sue Rihanek  and Jeanette Norton preceded him in death. 


Survivors include two sisters: Martha Elder and Myrle Maddox both of Slocomb; two brothers: Leon Keel (Betty), Slocomb and Gene Keel, Fadette; a stepdaughter, Marlene Henig (Tommy), Geneva; a stepson, Steve Childree (Katie), Birmingham; two step grandchildren: Cecilia Hughes and Joshua Childree; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
