Mr. John “Terry” Chambers of DeFuniak Springs, FL and formerly of Samson, made his earthly transition to his heavenly eternal home on Thursday, June 8, 2017. He was 54. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Sam Totten and Clay King officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.


 


Terry was born in Geneva County on December 26, 1962, to John G. and Mary Nell Chambers. He graduated Samson High School with the class of 1981. He then attended Troy State University and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He did further studies at the University of Georgia. He was a CPA. Terry loved to fish, play golf, and spend time with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father on January 14, 2017.


 


He is survived by his mother, Mary Nell Chambers of Samson; sister, Tina Hughes; two nephews, Brent Watson (Rikki Leigh) of Headland, AL and Garrett Watson (Krista) of Colorado; Aunt Louvenia Maloy of Middleburg, FL; Uncle Glenn Paul of Dothan AL; several cousins; one special cousin, Craig Maloy of Jacksonville, FL; his special Canine companion, Tide; and lots of special friends.
