Mr. Johnny Phil Marse, age 63 , a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday May 25, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday May 26, 2016 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kim Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery (Hwy. 431 N.) with Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Thursday prior to services from 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Marse was born on August 6, 1952 in Dothan, the son of John Hamilton Marse and Norma Ruth Odom Marse. He was a retired Utility Lineman for the City of Dothan after 23 1/2 years of service. He was a Dothan Auxillary Police Officer for 22 years and he served 13 years in the Coast Guard and was a Desert Storm Veteran. Mr. Marse was an instructor at Nashville State Technical College from 1997 through 2000, then became a technical instructor with TVPPA from January 2001 till February 2015.
He was preceded in death by parents.
Survivors include: wife, Pamela Marse; 2 sons, William Lewis (Annie), Tracey, CA., John Ryan Marse; 3 daughters, Amanda Lewis, Dothan, AL., Jada Roberts (Mark), Gaskin, FL., Regina Marse, Dothan, AL.; 2 sisters, Barbara Winslett, Montgomery, AL., Mabel Cook (Collins), Dublin, GA.; 6 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: John Ryan Marse, William Lewis, Mark Kight, John Hanke, William (Bill) Byrd and P.C. Gordon.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
