COTTONWOOD…Mr. Johnny Randall Johnson, a resident of Cottonwood (formerly of Ariton), died early Tuesday morning, May 7, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. He was 83.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stan Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Ariton Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            Mr. Johnson, son of the late Grady Johnson and Ada Spikes Johnson, was a native of Houston County. He moved Ariton in the late 1960’s and was employed as a painter during his working years. He returned to Houston County in Cottonwood in 2001. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Keahey Johnson, two sons, Curtis Thompson and Scotty Johnson, and two brothers, Donald Johnson and Malcolm Johnson.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Martha Harrison Johnson, Cottonwood; two daughters, Michelle Lambert (Jim), Ozark and Amanda Nicholson (Jerry), Enterprise; a son, Tony Johnson (Stacy), Ashford; three sisters, Sonya Eldridge, North Carolina, Mary Reisinger (Fred), Ozark, and Betty Anderson, South Carolina; six grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jerry Nicholson, Jim Lambert, Johnny Morgan, Jeffery Morgan, Hunter Easterling, and Phillip Helmstetter.
