Joseph E. Mitchell, 66 of Dothan, Alabama passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023.

He was born February 4, 1957 in Selma, Alabama and moved to Dothan at 11 years of age. Mr. Mitchell was a 1976 graduate of Dothan High School and was self-employed as an Architectural Designer. His early years were spent as an Architectural Draftsman with Palmer Drafting. Mr. Mitchell served his country in the Navy for 6 years achieving the rank of Petty Officer, Third Class as a Hospital Corpsman at Balboa Hospital. He served aboard the USS Saratoga.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Mitchell and Bonnie Grimes.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving partner, Janie Woodall and his step mother Joyce Mitchell. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Mitchell and sisters, Jeri Grissom (Larry), Gina Stanfield (Sam) and Joy Perkins (David). He also leaves other family members and dear friends who will miss him.
The family wishes to thank Kristen, Sonia and Daisy of Dayspring Hospice for their care during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Sharon Robertson and Jessica Roland for their wonderful support and care.
