Mr. Joseph Eric Strickland, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his home. He was 43 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Strickland will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 23, 2021, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Whitt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive in the church Friday from 12:30 P.M. until service time.
Mr. Strickland was born September 11, 1977 in Ozark, Alabama. He was a 1995 graduate of Ariton High School. Eric had traveled the United States and Canada as a long-haul truck driver. Currently he was employed with Shane Johnston Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseback rider and especially enjoyed his vegetable gardening. Eric was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorrey Schandorf Strickland of Ozark; two daughters, Jaylei Strickland of Enterprise and Hanna Grace Strickland of Ozark; one bonus-son, Trent Johnson of Ozark; his parents, Jerry and Deborah Strickland of Ozark; his maternal grandmother, Barbra Thomas of Ozark; one brother, Jerry Lynn Strickland of Ozark; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Yvonne Schandorf of Newton; two nephews, Aaron Dean Strickland and Andrew Brandt Strickland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
