On Friday morning, May 31, 2024, a most wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend entered the gates of Heaven and met his precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. Joseph V. Walker, Joe,76, was a man who could always be depended on to help when there was a need. If he said he would do something, he did it and did it well. His jovial nature and humorous anecdotes will be missed. He kept a grin on his face and a smile in our hearts. Joe was a graduate of Dothan High School and Troy State University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

A faithful, dedicated member of Lafayette Street Methodist Church, he taught Sunday School and served in multiple positions of leadership over the years, serving tirelessly alongside compassionate, hardworking friends in the Men’s Ministry. Most recently a member of Covenant Methodist Church and the Spiritual Formation Class taught be Dr. Sammy Prim

He believed his tenure at Rehobeth High School was not a career but a calling. For thirty years he compassionately taught his students working tirelessly to encourage and motivate those God placed in his care.

He lives forever in the hearts of his friends and family: Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patti Walker, daughter Jessica McLeod (Father Lee McLeod), three precious grandchildren (Tully, Moira & Lain), and brother-in-law, Bob Willis (Jan).
